Salsa Journeyman

Feature-Packed Versatility

Journeyman is Salsa’s all road bike designed with the versatility to fulfill a wide variety of missions, from backroad wandering to bikepacking to riding or racing gravel. Both drop bar and flat bar builds are available in two wheel sizes: 700c or 650b.

All Journeyman models feature wide, loose surface-friendly rubber. Choose your Journeyman based on how and where you like to ride: fast and efficient with 700c x 42mm tires or robust and comfortable 650b x 2.1” tires. A Salsa through and through, Journeyman accepts racks, fenders, and bolt-on bikepacking accessories, or keep it light and stripped to the basics. Hop aboard a Journeyman and explore your environment and your growing cycling ambitions.

Salsa Journeyman

Choose Your Wheel & Tire Size

Journeyman is built to accommodate two distinctly different wheel sizes. Choose the traditional 700c road bike diameter in tire widths up to 50 mm wide for speed and efficiency, or the increasingly popular 650b diameter in tire widths up to 2.2” for plush, high-volume comfort and traction. Whatever size you roll, and wherever you’d like to venture, Journeyman’s frame has room for the right size treads for the job.

Experience Journeyman Geometry

Developed from years of riding Salsa’s Vaya and Warbird bikes, Journeyman’s geometry is comfortable, stable, and confidence inspiring. Whether it’s your daily commuter, your bike for ripping up dirt paths and exploring unfamiliar terrain, or your partner in your first gravel race, the Journeyman is built for you. Spirited when you want it to be, but relaxed enough to leave you with the energy for long rides.

More Journeyman Features

Journeyman Specific Aluminum Tubing
Journeyman utilizes the same custom toptube and downtube developed for the Warbird Aluminum, with new seatstays, chainstays, and dropouts in 6061-T6 aluminum to match. The entire frame is then heat treated to T6 alloy standards for extra strength and durability.

Front and Rear Fender Mounts
Integrated front and rear fender mounts for drier riding in inclement weather.

Front and Rear Rack Compatible
Low-rider rack capability on the fork with mid-blade mounts with integrated mounts for a rear rack. For optimal rear rack fit, we recommend Salsa’s Wanderlust Rack.

Fantail Carbon or Aluminium Fork
Feature-packed carbon (Sora Builds) or aluminium (Claris Builds) fork with a tapered steerer and flat-mount brake. A crown light mount, fender eyelets, mid-blade mounts for low-rider racks, and Three-Pack mounts for Salsa’s Anything Cages or water bottles.

Full-Length Internal Cable Routing
Full-length housing improves shifting performance in poor conditions and increases use time between maintenance intervals. Internal routing for a clean, uncluttered look.

Toptube Bag Mounts
Two bolts on the toptube behind the stem to attach our EXP Series Toptube bag.
